1 on 1 Online Personal Training
Has the Coronavirus changed the way you have worked out recently? The answer is most likely yes as everyone is now home and away from his or her original place of exercise. But as you workout from home you should exercise caution and consider an online personal trainer. Exercising from home on your own may cause injury and can become very mundane.
Why Virtual Training?
When I meet with a client for the first time, I often hear I want to work out but I do not know what to do? or I am intimidated by the gym equipment. Now can you imagine if people are having this kind of trouble in a gym, how lost people can be trying to work out at home?
Do not try to do it alone (watch the video below to see why). Personal training online is usually more affordable and more flexible with your time!
Benefits of 1 on 1 Online Personal Training
All the wonderful benefits you get from working with a personal trainer in person you can also get online.
Support and motivation:
It is hard to stay motivated doing a home workout alone because you have distractions and other things or people to worry about. But when you work with a trainer one on one, they will help keep you motivated throughout the whole session.
Instruction and technique:
While some videos you see online may try to instruct you on proper technique, it fails in comparison to having someone tell you exactly what you need to be working on in the moment. A trainer can help you focus on the right muscle groups to ensure you reach your personal goals.
Clear and attainable goals:
Working out to lose weight should not be the only goal; weight loss should be a positive side effect of proper nutrition and exercise programming. A trainer can help you set attainable and realistic goals so that you can see results and stay motivated.
Personal attention and accountability:
How many times have you said ‘I am going to work out 4 times this week’ yet you only end up working out once or twice? A trainer will ensure you meet your weekly workouts and keep you from skipping out on days.
Injury prevention:
Injury prevention is the most important benefit of all. Not keeping the proper form through the exercise, lifting the wrong weight, and/or doing a high-intensity exercise that your body is not conditioned for will all lead down the same injury path.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, there were 50,000 emergency room visits from home exercise equipment incidents including treadmill falls, exercise ball falls, elastic stretch band hits to face, and dropping free weights on feet. This data is dated but that number could potentially be doubled now since people are forced to work out at home or not at all with this ongoing pandemic.
Exercise ball and treadmill falls. Elastic stretch band hits to face.
Emergency room visits from home exercise equipment incidents often happen.
How to Choose your Online Trainer
When you are looking at how to choose an online personal trainer here are some key points to keep in mind.
Do your research: Would you trust a doctor with the responsibility of your health wellness if he or she only had an online certification to practice medicine? Of course not. Why should you take that chance with your health and fitness?
Most trainers do have online certifications combined with the exercise experience they received while playing some sort of sport, but this does not make them qualified. Look for education and experience. The more educated the trainer, the more likely they can help you achieve real sustainable goals.
Check for a website and reviews: It is important to thoroughly check out your trainer!
Reviews can be a slippery slope because some people are paid to write reviews. Often times though, the more detailed the review is the higher chance that it is real. If a person truly helped someone, they would let people know.
A website is not an indicator of a good or bad trainer but it can reveal some important information about the person or company. Chances are if the website is nice, clean, and professional they are more dedicated to training. They are not someone who is a part-time trainer, part-time realtor, or part-time roofer who is just looking to make extra money.
I’m here for you and I am highly educated and certified in Muscle Activation Techniques, medical exercise and personal training.
